U-Pick-Em

Its all just there for anyone to buy...or grab!
Fall is in full "bloom" with the golden red leaves and harvest of crops.  One thing that amazes me about Germany, is how many "U-Pick" places there are.

Normally there is sign on a steel pole cemented into a 55-gallon barrel with it by a field or barn.  On the pole is a steel can with a slot to put money.  The sign says, "Selbst Pflucken, Selbst Bezahlen" (Self Pick, Self Pay).  The prices are on the sign.
Take what you want.
Drop the money in the slot.

The really amazing part is that no one is monitoring.  If you want a free bouquet, you could just snatch the flowers.  But the trust inherent in this type of sale makes me want to pay even more.
Pumpkins, potatoes, nuts, eggs.  Take and pay.
Apparently the eggs go fast in the morning.  there were none left this afternoon!

I've seen this for bags of walnuts, pumpkins, bags of potatoes, sunflowers, decorative flowers, and even strawberries.  Its really a beautiful thing to experience that people have such faith in one another.

Hello lovely pumpkin friends, please partake for yourself of the many colors,
shapes and flavors of gords.  Please throw your money into the green register.
Many thanks and much joy with your exemplary behavior.
